A fantasy Western where the British never lost America. The British Army make contact with the Apache and Sioux in order to create Native American regiments. This is a British Western, where Sitting Bull, Geronimo, Chocise, Victorio, Lozen, Queen Victoria and other historical names feature in an alternative history where the Aztec Spanish and the Imperial Chinese try to topple the Royal American Empire. ROYAL AMERICA South West of what might have been edition by Steve Moore Literature Fiction eBooks
An in depth,'follow me into this alternate world " viewpoint welcomes the reader into an America that remained a colony. Working with Geronimo, we get a grand view of this dimension, from the desert southwest to England and beyond. What impressed me was two qualities:A. The invitational way tge narrator pulls you from reality to gaze from the clouds at this realm. I thought this POV woukd be a bad idea. However, once again the Tetrarchs of Technicalities are wrong. The invite made the book personal, even like a cozy!
B. There is a cornucopia of detail on Native American culture, and British military custom and jargon. I was floored by it. World building is ricg, and the writer handles loads of characters well.
All in all, this is a ththorough, fascinating what if. The one star review is a weak assessment. Like alternate history? Visit Royal America!

ROYAL AMERICA South West of what might have been edition by Steve Moore Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
So boring I only got 7% into the book before quitting.
And, I am a great fan of alternate history and have ready many cover to cover.
Enjoyed the read took awhile to get started but got into it after I read more, would recommend to others to read
p.s. the one star review put me off but the book was cheap enough to make my own opinion seems to me a very harsh and unnecessary review. So much so that it compelled me to write this in counter balance
John
Scenes are described with very colorful words. An original book cover would have been good.
Steve Moore imagines an America still under British control during Queen Victoria's time and populates it with some surprising heroes and villains drawn from history. Native Americans are an integral part of the colonial military. Airships start to span the continent and a supernatural mystery is thrown into the mix.
The book would have benefited from some worshipping or tighter editing to improve readability. As it stands, Royal America is something of a diamond in the rough. Nevertheless, I look forward to book two and another visit to Royal America.
